We Attended ADDIT3D, the First Additive Manufacturing Trade Show in Spain

The very first edition of ADDIT3D was held this year in Bilbao, Spain, from the 30th of May to the 4th of June. The first trade show in Spain that focuses uniquely on Additive Manufacturing, ADDIT3D was a fascinating opportunity for us to explore the landscape of the 3D printing industry in Spain.

Over the course of a week, we managed to inform and inspire plenty of visitors at our booth, and attended several events ourselves as well. ADDIT3D was more than just a product trade show – it was also a great opportunity to learn from others and exchange innovations and ideas.

The overarching themes seemed to be the growth of using Additive Manufacturing for finished products, as well as the application of the technology in specific sectors, such as the medical sector, the aeronautic industry and even the cultural sector – Antonio Sánchez from Asorcad gave an interesting presentation on how they built a seven-foot long sculpture from consumer 3D printers.

Martin Saez, our Manufacturing Account Manager for Materialise Spain, presented a well-received workshop on the highs and lows of Additive Manufacturing. In the workshop, he detailed what the advantages of the technology were, but also specified that there were things to take into account before implementing 3D Printing into a manufacturing process.

The 3D printing industry is clearly evolving and changing constantly, and ADDIT3D served to highlight this even more. In all, the event was a wonderful experience, and provided us with plenty of insight on the Spanish 3D printing market. We look forward to next year’s edition already!

Didn’t get the chance to attend ADDIT3D? You can always talk to our Software and Manufacturing teams during Rapid Tech in Erfurt, Germany, from the 14th to the 16th of June!
